Lockdown from Monday : Obaidul Quader
DHAKA, April 3, 2021 (BSS) –
The government is set to declare a seven-day lockdown across the country
from Monday to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today disclosed the
information at a virtual media briefing from his city residence today, a day
after Bangladesh recorded the highest daily Covid-19 cases.
The government has taken the decision as the lethal virus is on rising
trend and infecting the people more than 6,000 per day for last two
consecutive days and more than 5,000 for last few days.
Besides, in a video message, State Minister for Public Administration
Farhad Hossain said, “The government is going to enforce a lockdown within
the next two to three days for a week across the country as the spread of
coronavirus increases”.
However, industrial factories will remain open amid the lockdown and
shifting duty will continue in the factories, he added.
